  1. To begin your cooking class in Rethymno, you’ll first arrival to a small picturesque village of “Pigi” at 6 PM, you’ll have a short walk, for about 15 minutes, through the village. You will end up at the main square of the village and at the traditional kafeneio (coffee shop). The first glass of raki for the day will help prepare for the cooking class.
  2. Mrs. Maria, your lovely cook, will be waiting for you in order to start the traditional Cretan cooking class. Suit up and be impressed by the quality of the organic products. You will use these products, literally picked up from the backyard of Mrs. Maria’s garden and make delicious ntako (crumbled tomatoes on traditional brusquettes), classic tzatziki, ntolmadakia and gemista (stuffed vegetables with rice and herbs). Mrs. Maria will also demonstrate the preparation of an authentic Greek salad.
  3. Continuing your Rethymno cooking class you’ll learn how to make traditional kalitsounia (handmade cheese pies). After the cooking ends, dinner follows with meal prepared in advance by Mrs. Maria. The main dish you will taste will be chicken and potatoes in tomato sauce, a typical dish found in every Cretan household. All this of course with unlimited raki, local wine (red or white) and ... food stories.
  4. After the meal, you will have the opportunity to watch a demonstration of the preparation of the main dish you enjoyed, by Mrs. Maria. To wrap up this cooking class you’ll enjoy a Cretan dessert: fresh fruit or yoghurt with honey.
